Criminal Minds

  • The character "Penelope Garcia" was supposed to be in only one episode, but she tested so positively that she was added to the main cast.

  • Matthew Gray Gubler does not wear matching socks, because he thinks it's unlucky. In a few of the episodes, you can see his mismatched socks.

  • J.J.'s children are played by A.J. Cook's actual children, Mekhai Andersen and Phoenix Anderson. Thomas Gibson's son Travis Gibson appeared in an episode that he directed. Joe Mantegna's daughter Gia Mantegna made a few guest appearances.

  • Andy was only supposed to appear as a guest in the first season, but everybody liked Chris Pratt so much, he was promoted to series regular for season two.

  • Amy Poehler, afraid they were going to turn Leslie Knope into a "female Michael Scott," requested that starting in season 2, they show her character to be talented and successful at her job, with the humor coming from her quirky behavior and eager enthusiasm. The writers listened and went that route starting in season 2.

  • Nick Offerman originally auditioned for the rule of Mark Brendanawicz before being cast as Ron Swanson.

  • Alyson Hannigan and Charisma Carpenter appeared on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997). "Buffy" Creator Joss Whedon, a declared fan of this show, also had a cameo in an episode.

  • The only characters that appeared in all of the episodes were Veronica (Kristen Bell) and Keith Mars (Enrico Colantoni).

  • Paul Rudd was originally considered to play Vinnie Van Lowe.

  • When Maura tells Jane that she might "move to Maine and write mystery novels" she is referring to Tess Gerritsen the author of the novels that Rizzoli and Isles is based upon.

  • One of the Cops was asked if he went to University and he answered "No, but I've seen Animal House a few times" the actor had played D-day in Animal house.

  • In 4x07, "All for One," Angie Harmon had injured her ankle on set during shooting, so the injury had to be written in to the show, including in the next few episodes.

  • Some of the characters didn't exist originally in the comic books (like Nicule Haught and Waverly Earp), but Emily Andras (the creator) decided to add them to the story. Nicule debuted this year ((2016) issue #8) and Waverly is set to debut soon.

  • Wyatt Earp had no children of his own but had four common law wives.

  • Wynonna's badge number is 1297. These numbers might have connection to Wyatt Earp who died in January 1929 and "the seven" who are referred to through out the series.

  • Despite having hundreds of kids sign up to audition for the part of Shawn, Rider Strong was the first actor that producer Michael Jacobs saw, and the last.

  • Danielle Fishel claims that producer Michael Jacobs named her character after Topanga Canyon in Los Angeles. Jacobs was driving past that location, when production called and asked for a name for the character. Jacobs admitted that if he drove any further when the call came, he would have named the character Canoga.

  • John Adams High School, where much of the show is filmed, was also used in sitcoms and movies like, The Wonder Years, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pretty In Pink, and Transformers.

  • Jessie Graff is the most accomplished female competitor to ever appear on the show. In Season 8 she finished stage 1 to become the only woman to ever do so.

  • Geoff Britten and Isaac Caldiero became the first ever American Ninja Warriors in the season 7 finale. Caldiero took home the $1,000,000 prize as he finished stage 4 with a faster time than Britten.

  • American Ninja Warrior (2009) was nominated for the 2018 Emmy Award in the Outstanding Reality Competition Series category, but lost to RuPaul's Drag Race (2009).

  • The "Cabbage Man" was not originally meant to be a recurring character, but due to the fans' response and the writers finding it so comedic, the Cabbage Man became a running gag throughout the series.

  • Almost all of the animals in the show are a combination of two animals. For example, Appa is half bison, half manatee and Momo is half bat, half lemur, except Bosco who is a full bear, and said to be weird that he is only a bear, and Miyuki the cat that was the pet of the old herbalist.

  • The symbols of the four nations that are written in the map of the avatar world has a literal meaning in Chinese calligraphy. For example, the symbol of water is joined with another that means virtue; for the one of earth, it means strong; for fire, it means fierce, and finally for of air, it means peaceful.

  • Detective Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever) could be seen carrying a copy of one of Castle's books at least once in every episode.

  • Nathan Fillion (Richard Castle) and Darby Stanchfield (Meredith) play characters who were previously married to one another. In the movie Waitress (2007), they played husband and wife.

  • When he's stressed, Castle has a subconscious habit of leaning to the left.
